1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
2 cups (16 ounces) sour cream
12 oz of fresh crab (from Whole Foods fish counter)
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
4 green onions, thinly sliced
Salt & Pepper
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Loaf of bread and assorted crackers for dipping
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Nuke cream cheese in the microwave for 30-45 seconds to soften. In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sour cream; mix well.
3. Fold in crab, cheese and onions.
4. Spoon mixture into baking dish (mine was 8x8 inches). Bake uncovered for 50 minutes or until the dip is heated through and the top starts to brown.
*This dip was pretty good, but I would have liked it more with a bit more spice. You could get the kick from red pepper flakes or diced up jalapeno peppers!
**Yields 5 cups; serves about 20 party guests.
