One of the many reasons I love my boyfriend is that he lets me celebrate my half birthday. Not only celebrate, but takes me to romantic, incredible restaurants every October 29th. Mason Pacific is a newer restaurant that Dan and I had wanted to try since it's opening. It's a fancier Nob Hill restaurant, with all the charm that places like this in San Francisco have.
Crispy Feta -A dish that illuminates the flavors of Fall with fried balls of feta cheese in a bath of pumpkin pureé, topped with brown butter chestnuts and fried kale,
Ravioli - Another one that celebrates the season. Sweet potato filled ravioli with disks of shaved burgundy truffles and a beurre fondue sauce.
Burger - One of the things I appreciate most about San Francisco dining is it's love of burgers. You skip down the menu from the delicate pasta (above) and find a killer burger. Made with a pretzel bun and smoked tomatoes, pickled red onions, white cheddar and mustard confit.
Brussels Sprouts - Baked with chewy bacon lardons, sweet roasted grapes and a fennel confit.
Bourbon & Corn Flake Ice Cream - One of the creamiest, crunchiest and most flavorful ice creams I've tasted. Brought in from the SF institution, Mitchell's.
