Taylor, one of my food soulmates, took me to Beretta for our private birthday dinner. I've been wanting to go here for years, but every time I've tried to it's been too long of a wait. Luckily this time was only a half hour and that half hour standing in the door was worth it. It's a perfect restaurant for a GNO (girls night out) or romantic (friend or more than friend) meal for two. Shared plates, colorful cocktails, nice wine list and even better food.
Burrata Bruschetta - I will 9 out of 10 times pick any bread and cheese dish as my favorite and this was no exception. A huge, messy ball of burrata was served on toasted walnut bread, then topped with a mushroom tapenade and truffle honey. Taylor and I had a big conversation about the art of using truffle well and these guys nailed it.
Burrata Pizza - Burrata strikes again. .
There was nothing "eh" about Beretta. We had the broccolini (spicy with chunks of roasted garlic) and meatballs, which were both very good, but didn't stand a chance with the cheese meals. If I were to go back, I'd try the onion bread appetizer too and go balls to the wall with carbs.
