Mezes was featured on one of the first food travel shows I watched in high school, $40 A Day With Rachel Ray. Everyone who works there is related and abundantly warm and energetic. It's surprisingly big, but the family staff make you feel like you're in their home in Greece.
Spanakotiropita - Feta and spinach wrapped in flaky filo dough rolls.
Dolmathes - Chewy rice with herbs and pine nuts, stuffed into fresh grape leaves.
Kalamaria Yemista Psita - Never had anything like this dish. The grilled calamari acted like a cannelloni noodle to hold all of the warm feta cheese. The basil olive oil was a nice pop of color on the plate.
Kota souvlaki - Grilled chicken skewers with roasted potatoes - dry and boring, even with tzatziki sauce covering it.
