Tahoe City, CA
We've been going up to the mountains with our family friends, the Wee's, since I can remember. During the summertime, Sunnyside is an absolute staple. This trip, we went to Sunnyside for dinner one night and lunch another day. The back patio is one of the prettiest spots on the West Shore, so it's hard to resist getting a sunshine AND sunset view. :)
Layered Shrimp & Crab Salad - Field greens, tomatoes, egg, avocado, creamy lemon dressing - It reminded me of a shrimp/crab louie salad made into a tower. I added a lot of salt and pepper and used the cucumbers as chips for scooping.
Chopped Salad - The combination of arugula, artichoke hearts, butter leaves and avocado were lovely greens to go with prime sirloin steak.
Zucchini Fries - Thick cut spears with an incredible ranch dressing. Tastes like my childhood.
Halibut Special - Major fail. The fish was cooked alright, but everything else was a disaster. The red pepper sauce was off and the side of "vegetable gnocchi" was hard to decipher what it actually was.
